Identifying Your Golf Cart
Are you having trouble identifying the make, model, and year of your golf cart? Don’t worry, Lakeside Buggies - Luxury Golf Carts Identification Tool is here to help. This tool is designed to make it easy to determine the make, model, and year of your golf cart. Here’s how it works.
First, you will need to pick the appropriate category. For example, if you have a Yamaha golf cart, you will need to scroll to the Yamaha tab. Once you have done this, you will be provided with a step-by-step guide to identify the model and year of your golf cart.

Step 1
Find your serial number. It will be located in one of three places.
- Under the rear bumper on the frame.
- Under the seat where the floor board meets the motor compartment.
- Under driver side glove box.
Step 2
Match your number with the table below.

Step 1
Find your serial number.
It will be under the dash on the passenger side.
Step 2
Find your model code.
The model code will be the first two letters of the serial number.
Step 3
Find your year code.
The year code will be the third and fourth character of the serial number. For example if you date code is 09 then your cart is a 2009.
Step 4
Match your model code to the charts below to find your cart.
WHAT YEAR IS MY EZGO® GOLF CART?
First you will need to locate your serial number. Listed below you will find the most common places EZGO has put their serial number plates as well as a comprehensive visual reference guide to help you with determining which EZGO model you have.
EZGO MEDALIST AND TXT MODELS (1994 TO PRESENT)
The serial number and manufacturer's number for these EZGO golf cart models can be found on a plate located in the glove box on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The serial number is either six or seven numbers and does not indicate the model year. The manufacturer's number does reflect the model year. This series will have one letter and three or four numbers which will include two numbers indicating the last two digits of the year it was manufactured.
The order of these numbers and one letter have changed several times over the years, but you should be able to figure it out. If not, call our customer care team at 972-478-1332 or e-mail us (sales@lakesidebuggies.com) with the manufacturers number and we will confirm the year in a return e-mail within 24 hours.
EZGO MARATHON MODELS (1976 TO 1993)
The serial number and manufacturer's number for these EZGO golf cart models can be found on a plate located under the glove box on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The serial number is either six or seven numbers and does not indicate the model year. The manufacturer's number does reflect the model year. This series will have one letter and three or four numbers which will include two numbers indicating the last two digits of the year it was manufactured.

EZGO GOLF CARTS (PRIOR TO 1976)
On EZGO golf carts prior to 1976, you can find the serial number plate on the fender skirt under the driver's side seat. There is no simple formula for vehicles manufactured before 1976. You can call our customer care team at 972-478-1332 or e-mail us sales@lakesidebuggies.com with all these numbers so we can help determine what model year you have. Please include all the numbers that you find on the plate.
WHAT YEAR IS MY COLUMBIA PARCAR/HARLEY DAVIDSON® GOLF CART?
HERE ARE A FEW COMMON SPOTS TO LOCATE YOUR SERIAL NUMBER:
- Mega - Glove Box, under the steering wheel cover, kick panel ,front dash panel.
- Eagle - Under steering wheel cover, passenger side upper foot rest area.
- Summit SUV - Under steering wheel cover, on vehicle nameplate, in driver side glove box.
- NEV - Under steering wheel cover, headlight cover ledge, top of front body, on nameplate.
- Harley/Columbia Vehicles - Stamped on left rear frame above axle (See image below). You can also use the handy solenoid map listed under the serial number chart to use your solenoid configuration to determine the year/model of your cart.
